I’ve written two novels under the pen name M.Z. McDonnell:

Poet, Prophet, Fox: the Tale of Sinnach the Seer is a queer mytho-history of Iron Age Ireland. It was a finalist for the 2020 Lambda Literary Award in Transgender Fiction.

Miach & Airmed is a story of Vermont at the turn of the 22nd century, centered around two herbalists, a brother and sister. It is a vision of what Vermont could look like if we advanced towards a truly climate resilient, appropriate-tech, decentralized democratic, food-sovereign, and decolonizing society. This vision focuses especially on what a holistic and just healthcare system could look like.
